Thanks for posting the video. Something is wrong with my address bar. It doesn't work right any more.
'Not funding it' won't do a thing. Your congressmen know that, and they are counting on the fact that their constituents don't and will keep writing checks to their campaigns. It is law. It's funding is not tied to any CR and shutdown contingencies were included in the legislation. The House knows this and is playing the tea party for fools. Don't take my word for it. Take the word of two fine conservatives, Senators Inhoffe and Coburn of Oklahoma in this article from the National Journal. http://www.nationaljournal.com/daily/a-friendly-reminder-that-defun...
The problem is Obamacare passed in the House and the Senate in 2010. It was signed by the President. It withstood a legal challenge in the Supreme Court in 2012. Voters had the chance to replace the Senators and President who campaigned on it in 2012 with candidates who opposed it. They didn't. It met every legal and political requirement to be law, and Congress and the President are sworn to uphold the law. Either you support the Constitution or you don't. You don't take political hostages when Constitutionally-created law doesn't please you. This is political theater, pure and simple, based on the illusion that Congress can 'defund' this law. The way to repeal Obamacare is to win big in '14 and '16. A handful of Congressman just wrecked that plan because they so enjoy cashing the checks from contributors too deluded to recognize that this is a sham. As Gov. Jindal said, we must stop being the "party of stupid".
By the way, Quinnipiac, (among the most accurate pollsters in 2012) just published a poll saying Democrats lead Republicans on generic Congressional ballot by 44-34. Largest spread for the Dems since '08. Defund the law all you want, but don't cry when Dems have control of the House and the Senate when Hillary is sworn in. That's what's actually at stake.
Yep, it passed in a democrat house and a democrat senate....It didn't even give the republicans vote yea or nay...People tend to forget the house gained the majority in Nov. 2010. The president has changed it numerous times, and that is against the law. Maybe soon someone will stand up to this lawless muslem and put his a$$ back in Kenya where he belongs.
The problem is that when the act passed it was funded. I am pretty sure that is the reason the GOP was saying delay for a year.
I'm not sure, but I do know that some have called for "de-funding". I merely posted the link. At least it is a place for people to let their thoughts on it be known.
Thanks Anna, I signed. Yes some say defund-it. Obama will not nor will the Senate democrats and traitors to the GOP. At this point altering the law may well be the only choice.
