America and the AMERICAN CITIZENS need a CHAMPION Somewhere since 1776 and the Declaration of Independence the vision of or thirst for Liberty and Self Reliance has dwindled. From names that represent American individualism like John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, frontiersmen like Daniel Boon and David Crockett. “We the People” the AMERICAN CITIZEN needs a CHAMPION today. A Champion councilman or mayor, a senator or representative or president; THAT WILL SACRIFICE AND DO WHAT IS RIGHT for “WE the PEOPLE”, the working, taxpaying citizens! Pat Tillman, a well-known Pro Football strong safety #40 on the NFL AZ. Cardinals, may be a modern-day example of this type of champion; “Sports embodied many of the qualities I deem meaningful,” he said in 2002. “However, these last few years, and especially after recent events, I’ve come to appreciate just how shallow and insignificant my role is . . . It’s no longer important.” http://www.biography.com/articles/Pat-Tillman-197041. Tillman walked away from a proposed three-year, $3.6 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals, but those who knew the unconventional San Jose native best weren’t surprised. “He did things his way. He had higher standards than most people,” said his agent, Frank Bauer. (This story appears in the May 3, 2004 print edition of U.S. News & World Report.) It seems Pat Tillman, like the signers of the Declaration of Independence, many of the same became the authors and framers of the U.S. Constitution, believed that living in America afforded THEM and other individual’s opportunities that cannot be found anywhere else in the world! Gridiron star Pat Tillman, in 2002 gave up the proposed $3 Plus million to enlist in the United States Army becoming an infantryman, qualifying for the Army Rangers, he became part of the 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Reg. Having served in Operation Iraq Freedom and while serving in Afghanistan Operation Enduring Freedom on 22 Apr. 2004 was Killed in Action. In the last 234 years we, individual Americans, have lost sight of the Independence that inspired Americans like John Fitch (1787 1st Steam Powered river boat) and Robert Fulton improving on the Fitch design creating more power and speed. The Steam boat inspired “Mark Twain” and millions of us have enjoyed “Tom & Huck.” Eli Whitney never got rich from his invention of the “COTTON GIN.” Quickly, I guess in another “American way” Pirated copies were produced. But the Cotton Gin made America the leading producer of raw cotton worldwide. By 1860 America was supplying 66% of the world demand for cotton. (http://weber.ucsd.edu/~jlbroz/Courses/POLI142B/lecture/1800-1900.pdf) And contributed “three-fifths of America’s exports,” http://inventors.about.com/od/cstartinventions/a/cotton_gin_2.htm During the late summer of 1774, each time a court was slated to meet under British authority in some Massachusetts town, great numbers of angry citizens made sure it did not. These patriots were furious because they had just been disenfranchised by the Massachusetts Government Act. Having lost control of the governmental apparatus, and in particular of the courts, they feared that arbitrary rulers might soon seize their tools, their livestock, or even their farms. Reproduction of all or any parts of the above text may be used for general information. Shortly after I was born, maybe 1950 to the present, there have been a continual effort and repeated accusations to portray the spirit or endeavors of men and women similar to those afore mentioned as evil capitalist or commercial imperialism. Policy of systematic domination and exploitation of a country by another country or an empire. Marxists assert that the United States engages in imperialism because powerful U.S. Businesses need to protect their foreign markets. http://www.answers.com/topic/imperialism There is always differing ways to look at things; “No government is guaranteed permanence, especially not those that consistently rule against the will of the people. That is the key lesson of the last ten years. Neither will the present American regime last. Indeed, its days are numbered, as the new generation’s sense of loyalty to DC dwindles with each day, and the false patriotism of the 20th century is replaced by the authentic patriotism of the 18th.” Llewellyn H. Rockwell,Jr. http://www.lewrockwell.com/rockwell/patriotism.html America and the AMERICAN CITIZENS need a CHAMPION, who will truly represent the constituents, not special interests or sell out to lobbyist, who protects the Constitution of the United States of America. A Champion willing to sacrifice personal fame or fortune for the protection of the citizens of this democratic republic, a champion of truth, honesty, fidelity and moral courage.
“There can be no self-government without self-discipline. There can be no self-government without self-control. There can be no liberty unless it is grounded in moral discipline and the ability to do what is right.” Alan Keyes

One of my all time big screen hero's, The Duke! There was a quote out there, maybe in the 70's, went something like; "I am fed up with limp hearted politicians" (not exact) but something like that. What I really remember is my Dad saying it and attributing it to Wayne.
Who is out there that could be a Reagan? or an Ike?
Yours,
