Watching the SOTU address last night was just like watching the debates for the Republicans without all the contenders. While praising the Bail outs as a success, he condemned them as being improper and promising to never allow it to happen again. Calling on a renewed investment on energy independence after his announcement on the Canadian oil pipeline. And Tax hikes on people making more than 1 million dollars and a corporate tax rate for all companies of 30 %. He promised no increase in taxes and a tax cut for all companies who return jobs to America. Declaring that America is a land of opportunity we need to make the playing field level for all, while adding regulation that will stifle companies without a team of lawyers to help them follow the law. He said he would oppose all attempts to return to the rules that allowed the collapse in the first place but he would work with anyone willing to negotiate. (Meaning agree with him.)

The Democrats in attendance followed the ritual stand, sit, applaud and stand again on cue with the regularity and precision of an Eastern Orthodox Church service. Many while playing with their cell phones and other devices, or even napping. Even Dopy Joe managed to stay almost on timing with the script.

Mostly nothing new same Blame someone else, lie about the facts, and claim credit for anything that might look good. (Like the success of Ford Motor Co.; and the Education initiatives of South Carolina’s REPUBLICAN Governor!) Just another campaign speech gone bad.
